The San Juan campus of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines is hosting the event for the first time.

The MapAmore Initiative is collaborating with PUP San Juan to help organized their first SFD activity. The topics to be covered are as follows:

Post-event report

Eighty four students, mostly students taking up technology courses, took part in the first Software Freedom Day celebration of PUP San Juan. Six speakers from various FOSS communities shared their time and knowledge about their own fields of interest and expertise, with lively interactions revolving around the real-world use of FOSS.
