DESCRIPTION:In a time when our lives are increasingly dependent on technolo
gies\, it is important we take the time to consider the impact of technolo
gy on our lives\, and the importance of ensuring technology isn't used to
limit us\, but rather to take us further along a path of opportunity\, inn
ovation and freedom for all people.\n\nThe Working Centre (TWC) and the Ki
tchener-Waterloo Linux User Group (KWLUG) are teaming up to offer presenta
tions on why Freedom in choosing and using your software is important\, an
d how Free Software is really more about User Freedom. This year there wil
l be a workshop on installing security and privacy software\, and a worksh
op on writing your own software. And\, of course\, there will be an all-d
ay Free Software Installfest at Computer Recycling.\n\nThis year Software
Freedom Day will feature a Film Festival of Free Culture movies\, and movi
es about Free Software. Stay tuned for a complete schedule!
