On September 21st, 2013, over 150 participants will come together to celebrate the Software Freedom Day. Software Freedom Day (SFD) is a global celebration and education of why transparent and sustainable technologies are now more important than ever.

In the University of Lagos, Eko-Geeks will join the global celebrations with its fourth edition of “Software Freedom Day” hosted by Eko-Konnect Research and Education Initiative, a consortium of Higher education Institutions in Lagos State, led by the University of Lagos with the theme “The Power of Open Source” .

Key resource persons who have used and benefited from the Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) Movement will exchange ideas, knowledge and skills by enlighting young enthusiaste on empowering technologies that provide new and exciting challenges, a career in ICT as well as financial stability while using a free source code and personalising it.
