10:30am - David Carr: Make Your Own Freedom By Writing Your Own Software

Frustrated that there just doesn't seem to be a program or app that does exactly what you want? Maybe there is, but it does a lot of other things too that just get in the way. Maybe you just can't see paying for something so trivial. "I just want it to... How hard can that be?"

The answer may be, "Not so hard." Writing your own software has never been easier. Together we'll look at a few programs I wrote for my own personal use and how you can go about creating your own.

11:30am - Joseph Wennechuk: Transitioning from Manufacturing Work to IT

Joe worked for a welder for many years. He will share his career path from manufacturing to taking courses at a private college to learning about Free Software and engaging the community.

12:30pm - Bob Jonkman: What Is Software Freedom?

1:30pm - Stefan Chirila: Free Software is mainstream. The silent revolution is over

2:30pm - John Eddie Kerr: How Free Software Affects Consumers and Taxpayers

John Kerr started learning Linux to avoid copyright infringement. Then the economic aspects became clear. In this talk John will share his insights.
