Magazine Ad

I don't know, if this ad from last year's SFD will be re-used by someone. But I translated it 2011, so here it is...

CD-Labels (German)

I was very sorry to hear that Canonical stopped their "shipit" program and won't send some CDs to the SFD-teams.

As I have always burned our Ubuntu-CDs for spreading the word myself (in very small amounts of course), I thougt maybe someone of the other teams may want some "inspiration" for a label.

So we can burn some Ubuntu-CDs on location and the teams have a couple of CDs to give away to interested people.

So here is my interpretation of a label for a "Ubuntu 12.04 SFD-Remix".

For I am no real artist, it may look a little clumsy, texts are in german, but you can change this easily by editing the source file (Inkscape svg). Feel free to add your own astonishing ideas.

Display stand for CDs

To show the self burned cds in an appropriate way, I use this little gem.

It's in Inkscape svg and you can modify it at will.

Detailed instructions are attached, too.

The original file was designed to hold Ubuntu shipit-CDs, so the readme mentions this.

But I thought, it would look better (and can be used more "neutral") when there is a little "SFD" design on it.

This is in the public domain (see readme), but I want to mention my thanks to the Ubuntu-Utah LoCo for this nice piece of work.

Countdown

Guide to get the countdown working is here and needs to be updated for 2012. 99 PNG files needs to be uploaded in a specific folder for it to work in a specific language. Please start a discussion on sfd-discuss to see what's the best way to migrate from 2011 to 2012. Thanks. -- FredericMuller 2012-05-09 14:48:10
