Open Computing Facility
The Open Computing Facility is a volunteer student organization at the University of California, Berkeley. We offer free printing, web hosting, disk space, email, and UNIX shell accounts to students, faculty, and staff, and we do this by providing our volunteer staff an opportunity to explore serving practical computing services. We have a computer lab with desktops and a server room with our backend machines. Both are in the basement (floor G) of Eshleman Hall, a building on campus that houses many student groups, including the student government and student newspaper.
We will be hosting an event for Software Freedom Day, and will begin organizing once the fall semester begins.
