On Software Freedom day we will be promoting and demonstrating free software and free software concepts to home, education and business users.

Location: St Mary's Catholic School, 13th Avenue, Tauranga (follow the signs to the school hall)

Date & Time: Sunday 19 September, 11am-3pm

We have 14 volunteers who will be demonstrating the following free software:

    Various alternative computer Operating Systems (eg Ubuntu)
    OLPCs (One Laptop per Child) XO Laptops and Sugar Educational Operating System
    Educational software
    Model railway design software
    Genealogy
    Open Office
    MySQL
    Design software; The Gimp, Scribus
    MythTV

    "Crossover" to show the software (DOS) programming of the portable radios used in Search & Rescue
    CAD software for quilt design

    Music & keyboards
    Android smart phones
    Astronomy
    Library management software
