ABACUS

ABACUS(A Bonafide Association for Computer Users and Students) is an initiative by the students of Computer Science and engineering branch at NSS College of Engineering, Palakkad. Know more about us at http://allforabacus.com

We are planning to hold a GNU/Linux installation cum familiarization workshop for those who are afraid to try installing GNU/Linux on their systems. Plus, they can clear any doubts they have regarding the use of GNU/Linux. We are primarily concentrating on the Ubuntu Distro. The workshop will also include the introduction of Gparted.

That is one event which will last about one and a half hours. The next is a workshop on getting started on an open source project. It will include familiarization of downloading the source code and installing it with automake tools. Plus, an introductory idea of using git version control system will also be imparted to the students attending.

A small hangout will be there after these two events and that's it.
