SFD Team Tauranga
On Software Freedom day we will be promoting and demonstrating free software and free software concepts to home, education and business users.
Location: St Mary's Catholic School, 13th Avenue, Tauranga (follow the signs to the school hall)
Date & Time: Sunday 19 September, 11am-3pm
We have 14 volunteers who will be demonstrating the following free software:
- Various alternative computer Operating Systems (eg Ubuntu)
- OLPCs (One Laptop per Child) XO Laptops and Sugar Educational Operating System
- Educational software
- Model railway design software
- Genealogy
- Open Office
- MySQL
- Design software; The Gimp, Scribus
- MythTV
"Crossover" to show the software (DOS) programming of the portable radios used in Search & Rescue
- CAD software for quilt design
Music & keyboards
- Android smart phones
- Astronomy
- Library management software
