## page was renamed from 2010/NorthAmerica/USA/CA/2010/NorthAmerica/USA/CA/Simi Valley The Simi-Conejo Linux Users Group ( http://www.sclug.org ) will observe Software Freedom Day 2010 September 18th, 2010. We'll be in the Community Room of the Simi Valley Library, 2969 Tapo Canyon Road, in Simi Valley, from 1:30 to 5 p.m. We'll be demonstrating software that's licensed under the "General Public License". While these programs are generally free, they are high-quality products. You can feel comfortable that they don't contain spyware, trojans, viruses, or annoying popup ads. Nor are they "crippleware" - everything under the GPL is full-featured! Some well-known examples of "Open Source Software" are the Firefox browser, and the Open Office office suite. We'll show you other equally useful pieces of software, including the Linux operating system, which can entirely replace Windows on your computer (yes, it's legal!) Come on over, and we'll be happy to show you how to obtain and install this high-quality software on your computer!
