Free Software Collections For Windows

OpenDisc - collection of Free Software for Windows.
The OpenDisc at (10.12) 1.3Gb requires a DVD. See SFD/Contents for the 2010 build notes for including Edubuntu 10.04 i386 LiveCD (bootable) on the DVD.
FramaDVD Framasoft's FramaDVD is a 4.2gb software compilation with 90 applications. It includes a custom interface, documentation, and how-to video.
Swatantra - A multi purpose disc collection open source software inspired by the OpenDisc to satisfy a large mass. (from India)
Portable apps is a collection of Free software that's designed to run portably on a Windows computer or via flash drive. Unlike many other Windows programs, these don't require administrator rights or registry access to use them.

Debian - One of the most trusted, stable, and long-standing distributions
Slackware - One of the oldest active Linux distributions. Very Unix-like.
AntiX - systemd-free lightweight distribution based on Debian. Has live USB support and is easy to customize and respin. Good for low resource computers.

Other Free Operating Systems
Free Software on USB
You may find it easier to use USB flash memory sticks instead of burning GNU/Linux or other operating system images to CD or DVD. This is especially true with newer computers since many no longer have hardware to support CDs or DVDs.
Unetbootin is an easy to use application which turns a GNU/Linux CD or DVD ISO image into a bootable USB drive. Unetbootin is available for multiple platforms.
PendriveLinux lets you install and run multiple ISO images on one flash drive.
Rufus also lets you create bootable USB flash drives from ISO images.
