The three winning teams will receive a Makerbot and a book Free Software Free Society: selected essays by Richard M. Stallman signed by the author (if the winning teams didn't distribute any non-free Linux distribution). = SFD Competition 2010 Winners = In no particular order, the following entries demonstrated diverse participation, excellent media coverage, photos, weblinks, videos and other recording of the event. They also were particularly innovative, successful, and a great example of what Software Freedom Day is all about. Congratulations to our SFD 2010 competition winners! === PROTEGE QV, Cameroon, Africa === PROTEGE QV organized an incredible Software Freedom Day in 2010, full of presentations, workshops, exhibitions and interaction between speakers and the audience. Years of organizing SFD in Cameroon is also surely behind the reason of having the Ministry of Post and Telecom endorsing them and sending a representative. They showed a lot of originality in attracting passing-by audience and chosing a theme that matched the social environment where they operate as a non-profit. We believe that such a high quality event hosted in Africa is great for Software Freedom and we hope this recognition will help them and others in their advocacy efforts for the years to come. Congratulations to PROTEGE QV! Do go and check out the event report and the photos: those really gives the reader the feeling of joy and fun that this team deployed to celebrate Software Freedom Day! A great job by the team and congratulations! Not to mention that they also provided a very detail post-event report including a survey to capture insights from their participants. The event was very well attended by the local community and the press, which led to excellent perception all around! To summarize in three words: A REAL SUCCESS! Congratulations to the great work of Melbourne team and hopefully see you this year again!
