About ManLUG
Manchester Linux User Group (ManLUG) is one of the UK's oldest LUGs and have an active group of people giving support and sharing knowledge.
About Manchester Free Software
Manchester Free Software (MFS) aims to promote the free software philosophy, centred in Manchester. We provide a friendly and accessible community to learn about and discuss Free Software. We've been running the Free Software Festival that is Software Freedom Day from 2008.
Event
Our aim for Software Freedom Day (SFD) is to celebrate Software Freedom, and to spread Software Freedom to people and groups that would be into Free Software and the Free Software philosophy if only they knew about it.
When?
2pm - 5pm (14:00-17:00). Saturday, 15th September 2018.
Where?
PLANT NOMA, Redfern, Dantzic Street, NOMA, M60 0AE.
Near Shudehill Interchange and not far from original Madlab.

Parking?
If you can't decide otherwise then park in Manchester Arndale, although it isn't cheap, see NCP Manchester Arndale.
There are paid parking lots around the venue, they are marked by a blue P in this OpenStreetMap centred on PLANT NOMA. They have varying cost and time limits so please check beforehand. Most of those parking lots are owned by NCP.
Public Transport?
Manchester Victoria (MCV) train station, Shudehill tram station and Manchester Piccadilly bus station are all fairly close to PLANT NOMA, see OpenStreetMap centred on PLANT NOMA. Manchester Piccadilly (MAN) train station and Manchester Central Coach Station are not too far either.
What?
The event will be a party celebrating Free Software. There will be talks, chat and demos. The event will be relaxed and friendly and will be inclusive of those wanting to get into Free Software.

Post event
After 5pm the event will continue informally, allowing discussions, small group demos and so on to continue.
Follow-up event
On the Tuesday after (18th September) at 7pm in the same venue, Manchester Free Software will be doing a follow-up tutorial on how to install a Free Software Operating System on a computer.
