= SMVDU =

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) is going to Celebrate SFD 2015 on Monday, '''September 21'''. We are celebrating late due to exams in the University. We celebrated SFD last year and it was awesome. Last year we expanded the celebrations to a week from 20th September - 28th September, 2014. We are also planning to extend the celebration in 2015 for a week to cover as many workshops and competitions. We will also invite nearby colleges to the event.

At SMVDU, we have already organized SFD thrice in past during 2010, 2011 and 2014. We are going to extend this event to a week in 2015, keeping in view the enthusiasm of Students about Open Source. We’ll be organizing workshops covering various open source platforms like Linux, Python, Github, Android, Web technologies and Network Security. Along with this we’ll also have a few competitions based on open source theme which shall cater to the students of all branches.

SMVDU can be reached from Jammu via Road in about 1 hour. One can easily hire taxis from Jammu, Katra or Udhampur to reach SMVDU. We are eagerly waiting for you to be a part of Software Freedom Day Celebrations at SMVDU.
