ITeMS is the acroynm for Information Technology and Media Services Directorate at the University of Ibadan. It was coined during the stakeholders meeting on 06 May 2014. The duty of the directorate is to use information technology and media to provide information, communication and entertainment to all members of the community located locally or elsewhere.

The Directorate evolved out of the Management Information System (MIS) unit, the Information and Communication Technology (Internet) project, Diamond FM radio station, University Media Centre and the Computing Centre.

Software Freedom Day will be celebrated as follows:

 * Date: Friday 19 September, 2014
 * Venue: Trenchard Hall, University of Ibadan
 * Time: 9am to 4pm

Activities would include open source CD distribution, lectures, hackathon, lunch, demonstration and entertainment.
