= Ubuntu DC Local Community = The community promotes free open source software (FOSS) in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area, with a large, but not exclusive focus on Ubuntu and other Linux distributions. Members are also involved with the [[http://olpclearningclub.org|One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) DC group]], and have participated in Raspberry Pi hacking, the [[http://hackforchange.org/|Code for America / Hacking for Change]] event, and [[http://www.fablabdc.org/|Fab Lab DC]] courses. As we have done since the first SFD, we will once again be tabling at the [[http://tpff.org/|Takoma Park Folk Festival]], held at the [[http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=38.98533&lon=-77.01184&zoom=17&layers=M|Takoma Park Middle School, 7611 Piney Branch Road, Takoma Park, MD 20910]] six days before the official date (Sunday, September 8, 2013) which allows us to reach a much larger audience with little effort. ---- CategoryTeam2013
