= PULUG = PULUG stands for Panjab University Linux User's Group. It is a group founded by CSE and IT students from University Institute of Engineering and Technology We are going to organize SFD for the 3rd time now, the last one being in 2011. We had about 180 attendees last year, this time we will try to make it go beyond the 300 level :) We are gonna follow a similar event routine like last year's SFD celebration. 1) There will be free cake for all the attendees, the organisers will pool money to buy it. 2) We will hold the following talks:- 1. Introduction to Open Source software and Linux Distributions 1. What is SFD? and why it matters? 1. Introduction to Android Development including apps and widgets 1. HTML5 Development Basics 1. Python -- A Beginner's Guide 1. Introduction to Developing under Linux 1. Introduction to Bash Scripting 1. Contributing to Open Source projects like KDE, GNOME, Firefox etc. 1. Introduction to development with Qt 1. Getting a job in Open Source Development 1. All about Google Summer of Code and other open source development competitions. 3) We will distribute goodies to the attendees, some of which we will get from you and we will try to make a custom tshirt for our own SFD! ---- CategoryTeam2012
