Ateneo de Davao University
Ateneo de Davao University is a private Catholic university founded by the Jesuits in 1948. Its graduate and undergraduate programs cover arts and sciences, business and governance, and nursing. It also runs a high school and grade school.
Ateneo de Davao University is ranked fifth among the Top 20 Universities in the Philippines, as surveyed by the Philippine Commission on Higher Education and Professional Regulatory Commission
Computer Studies Division
The Computer Studies Division (CSD) runs the graduate program for Master in Information Technology and the undergraduate programs for Computer Science, Information Technology, and Information Systems. CSD is a proponent of free software in the university and uses them in its curriculum. CSD offers an elective dedicated entirely to free and open source software.
Early this year, students of the open source elective organized a mini-conference for the other students in the university. Dubbed ATMOSphere (Advanced Technologies Meets Open Source), the event attracted over a hundred participants. Topics covered included: ELGG, Drupal, Joomla, CakePHP, osCommerce, and Android.
